I knew I wanted the kids to read a couple of memoirs this year, and first up was Ben Carson's.
It begins with the hardships Carson and his family overcame and how he used the lessons to create an incredible life, giving so much credit to God.
While Carson’s stuff is cool, I was far more impressed with his Mom, who had a third-grade education, 23 siblings, & married at 13 to a 28-year-old minister.
She was a true testament of faith because she changed her entire life for the sake of her boys, who grew up to be incredible humans (even if you hate their politics).
